Goodbye Facebook

I  have gone to Facebook free.

Life just got very isolated. I am still waiting for someone to realize I'm not on fb anymore. So far, only my sister has noticed.

On the other hand, I've got all this free time now. Perhaps I'll be able to blog a little more often.

Kids...

Just finished reading a parenting essay that someone sent me, and wow, I miss so many opportunities to really teach my kids to live the right way for the right reasons! Too often I focus on what I have to do, want to do, etc... The author is so right that we need to be ready to lay aside our desires to focus on training a child correctly.

I guess then the question becomes, "how do I do this?" It seems like the to do list is never ending to start with, and yet I commit to more. Be it for other people, or my own personal goals. Add to that the fact that I am super task-oriented and love to cross off items on my to do list and we have a problem people.

This is going to be a tough battle to fight and will require a lot of prayer, but they are worth it!

Pssst.....Pass This On!

Shutterfly is giving 50 holiday photo cards away to bloggers! Bloggers are eligible to receive 50 holiday cards. Free cards are for 5×7 folded or flat stationery cards. Offer ends December 31, 2010. Taxes, shipping and handling will apply. They are one of my very favorite sites for great gifts for the holidays!

I first read about them in a magazine around Father's Day a couple of years back, and I chose to start the tradition of giving my hubby a photobook of him and the kids every year on Father's Day. He LOVES it! (and I don't have to rack my brain deciding on what to give every year! bonus!)

One year we decided to give my grandparents a calendar calendarwith photos of all of the family through the years. It turned out amazing!

Last Christmas, after spending hours trying to come up with a great gift for a Grandma who has everything, we decided to make her her own photobook of what her family had been up to the past year. Grandma adores photos and has every nook and cranny and wall lined with them.  :-) So together, with other relatives, we put together a great gift for her. No scanner. No trying to coordinate a time to all get together at one location to work on a project. Everyone worked on their own pages from their own computer at their own pace.

Another great way to use Shutterfly is to order prints and have them sent directly to a loved one. No having to pay postage twice! Or you can pick your prints up at a local Target, Walgreens, or CVS.

Back to the giveway! Go to this link Giveway! and fill out your own blog info to get started! I'm going to use my holiday cards to send to family and friends that we won't see this season. I'm still undecided, but I like this one and this one.

P. S. If you need New Year's or Christmas invites they have those too. And if you are a super-overachiever, unlike me, they have Mother's Day cards too.

Woohoo! Never thought I would have a blog, but I'm thinking this may be fun!

Just an idea of what I do for fun!
